What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

Weren't those Color My World Quilts from Part One stunning? The group did such an amazing job at interpreting the design and then making it their own! So proud of all the work they did. I'm tired of talking about my projects for next week. Let's just say that symmetry or lack thereof has thrown me for a loop this morning, and I think I'll be making a trip to the fabric store. And that's all I'm going to say about that. 

Let's discuss Color My World. Someone asked me yesterday if they had missed the photos, and NO—with all the commotion going on, I totally forgot I was going to post the completed quilt tops.

Oh gosh -- my washer isn't working, and I needed to do laundry yesterday! It has been acting up recently: the door catch doesn't always recognize when the door is closed and locked. So if you wiggle the thing, it would work again. Yesterday? The wiggling didn't work. Oh well -- I have enough clothes to make the next couple of days work. 

When I'm back in three days, then I'll have time to try and get some things done around the house. Like weeding the backyard, fixing the washer, and giving the long arm a spa ...

Thanks for the suggestions on computers—I'll look into them because I'd love to get the old computer off the second desk! It takes up a lot of room! 

There was a lot of trepidation in the house as I unboxed the second HP printer. This time, I took pictures as I unboxed it. There's that heavy paper strap around the shrink-wrapped printer. And it worked like a charm. No need to bend deep to pull the printer out of the box. I was very impressed.

Then ...

I can breathe a huge sigh of relief this morning. There are two one-hour Zooms to do this morning, and everything is prepped - even the follow-up emails. Well, they are as prepped as they can be until after the class. My jacket is done - as much as is needed to wear it. We won't tell anyone! And there are 9 items left on my to-do list. I've been on fire this morning!! 

But let's start with yesterday. We started the day with the Color My World class. Here is my quilt so far.

OH, I just realized that the title of yesterday's blog AND the first picture you see of a volcano erupting were perhaps a bit dramatic!! BUT getting that much work done in the office was dramatic! 

I listened to this audiobook MANY years ago when I started my decluttering journey. I just checked my blog and the date was March 10, 2014!!!!! Well, I listened to it somewhere, and I suspect it was before I started because the first room I tackled was the bedroom, and that's the first room mentioned in the book. For the record, and ...

A clarification about the Color My World class: Yes, that class will be on Zoom, so you can live anywhere and still participate. You can even be on vacation and still attend the class. It will be a one-hour session once a month on the weekend. The classes will be recorded and available to rewatch for 30 days after the class, and I will send my notes to everyone. We'll have a Facebook group so we can share our homework. 

You will be responsible for purchasing a pattern, and I'll provide sources. Actually, I should do that now ...

 I thought someone said the weekend was supposed to be nice, warm, and sunny. WRONG! When I left the house to teach an in-person class, the skies were stormy, and at one point, I ran into a torrential downpour. And when I arrived at my destination, the sun was shining! We've had rain for the last three days—guess what? I don't get to try my new hose and water the new plants! Darn! 

Hopefully, the weather will be somewhat nice this afternoon so I can do some gardening. I know - ME! Excited about gardening! I love puttering ...

Being so relaxed is just wonderful!  One more Celestial Star was made.  I think it is my favorite so far.

Here they are all together.  I plan to make a total of 9, so five more to go.  They really do take a long time.  I love the secondary pattern in the open space created from using two different background fabrics.
